Senior Technical Sales Manager East Midlands – commutable from Coventry, Leicester, Warwickshire and surrounding area. Salary: up to c£60k, negotiable based on experience + generous benefits. Our client has almost half a century of expertise in designing, developing and manufacturing bespoke special purpose automation and robotic systems for a diverse range of industry sectors and is regarded by many in the industry as one of the leading automation system solution providers in the UK.
As part of continued success and strategic growth, the company is seeking an experienced, driven, and highly self‑motivated Senior Technical Sales Manager to complement its established business development team and maximise opportunities with both existing and new clients through the provision of automation and robotic solution sales.
Responsibilities- Identify and engage with new and existing clients, attending customer sites to nurture relationships and understand current and future requirements, and recommend enhancements, modifications or upgrades that benefit the business.
- Create and maintain sales analysis sheets for each enquiry received.
- Report enquiry results in the weekly sales meeting, providing visibility of future enquiries and potential market demands or competitor developments.
- Develop commercially viable and financially beneficial quotations for enquiries and review them internally before sending to the customer.
- Understand the budgetary and timescale requirements for each enquiry.
- Communicate regularly with the customer throughout the life of the enquiry.
- Set up sales handover meetings to transfer order details to the technical team, support the project team, and assist the customer throughout the project life cycle when required.
- Report to the Leicester‑based Sales Director.
- Previous technical sales management experience in automation systems, ideally within the medical systems sector.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (at least HND) in a relevant engineering or business discipline.
- Strong commercial acumen – excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively; flexible willingness to travel within the UK and overseas.
- Demonstr boldly belief in a high level of commercial ac clamp.
