Commercial Contracts Manager Derby (hybrid / flexible working available) c£57,500 - £67,500 + bonus + exceptional benefits package Our Derby based client is renowned as a market leader in the provision of innovative and bespoke integrated systems and offering a range of highest quality services that encompass Project Management and Implementation, Consultancy and Software Development to blue chip clients worldwide, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager to complement their established and successful Supply Chain team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with Directors and Project Managers across the business, the successful Commercial Contracts Manager will provide commercial and contractual support throughout the project lifecycle, with key responsibilities including (but not being limited to): Reviewing, negotiating and advising on client contracts prior to acceptance.

Identifying and managing contractual and commercial risks.

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating subcontract agreements.

Administering client and subcontractor contracts throughout project delivery.

Managing contractual change through NEC Early Warning and Compensation Event processes.

Preparing, submitting and negotiating quotations arising from contract changes and client instructions.

Ensuring contractual notices and communications are issued correctly and within required timescales.

Preparing and managing client payment applications.

Assessing and managing supplier and subcontractor payment applications.

Providing guidance on the interpretation and practical application of NEC contracts.

Assisting in the resolution of contractual and commercial issues.

Supporting commercial reporting, risk management and best practice across the business.

Fostering strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

It is envisaged the successful Commercial Contracts Manager candidate will be a commercially astute and highly organised individual with strong contract management, administration and negotiation skills, capable of operating across multiple projects and stakeholders.

You will demonstrate relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Law or equivalent practical experience, with membership of a relevant professional body being desirable but not essential.

Essentially you will possess a strong working knowledge and practical application of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts and proven experience in administering Compensation Events, Early Warning Notices and NEC payment mechanisms.

With a good understanding of contract law and the practical application of construction contracts, you will have experience of reviewing and negotiating client and subcontract agreements with strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
