Our client has been established for more than half a century and specialise in the design, manufacture and global supply of bespoke and innovative cleaning solutions to a range of sectors including biotech and pharmaceutical. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineer to complement their professional team.
Core responsibilities for this varied and challenging role will include (but not be limited to):
- Undertaking the wiring of skid mounted equipment including valves, pumps, heaters and instrumentation and the fitting of skid mounted pneumatic equipment.
- Terminating cabling and pneumatics in control panels and wiring control panels as well as setting up systems for testing using technical drawings.
- Manufacturing control panels, drilling and fitting control equipment to technical drawings before performing initial test and commissioning of the control systems.
- Overseeing the activities of sub-contractors ensuring consistent high standards are adhered to and the correct installation of systems/equipment is maintained.
- Leading FAT Tests from an Electrical aspect and supporting the Automation Team, including ensuring associated electrical/process drawings are up to date.
- Overseeing project milestones and keeping PMs aware of missing equipment, instruments or tags in order to ensure systems are complete prior to FAT/shipment.
- Undertaking PAT testing within the workplace, and performing Electrical stock take activities, reporting any identified low stock to ensure replenishment is actioned.
- Performing the fault find and rectification of workshop electrical faults, damaged/faulty equipment.
- Working alongside designers in the early stages of a project for placement of containment and equipment on the skid/system.
- Undertaking the Electrical installation of systems on site as well as on site fault-finding/breakdown requirements as they may arise.
It is envisaged that the successful Electrical Engineer will demonstrate a relevant electrical or controls engineering qualification and at least 4 years' experience of working in a controls and basic wiring/panel wiring environment with a high level of literacy in reading electrical drawings as well as basic workshop technical skills (i.e., familiar with power tools, hand tools and engineering hygiene).
You will be comfortable with physical aspects of working on skids (i.e. able to get around steel framed equipment systems) and will possess a good working electrical knowledge of engineering process equipment (such as pumps, heat exchangers and valves etc.) with the ability to gather technical specification information internally and externally.
As travel to sites will be required away from the Bishop's Stortford facility, a full UK driving licence is an essential requirement for the position.
Advanced panel wiring knowledge, the ability to perform fault find, modification and debug on PLCs and HMIs and an understanding of P&IDs and General Arrangement drawings will prove distinctly advantageous for this role, as will an understanding of basic circuits, fault finding, testing and commissioning of skid wiring and electrical panels.
