Our client has been established for more than a century and is recognised as a global market leader in the design and manufacture of niche electrical solutions for supply across the globe. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic QHSE Manager to complement their professional Quality team.
The successful QHSE Manager will be responsible for maintaining, continuously improving and auditing the management systems across two sites (Leicester and Norfolk) and covering engineering and manufacturing environments to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Management system ownership, including maintenance, audit and continuous improvement activities and associated documentation control.
- Leading RCCA's to resolve customer complaints, manufacturing, component and supplier issues.
- Supplier Quality management, working with the Supply Chain team to assess, audit and approve new suppliers.
- Managing the internal audit program and acting as the main contact for external certification bodies and customer audits.
- Training, coaching and team development, toolbox talks.
- Maintaining the sites calibration status to ensure all equipment is available and fit for use.
- Preparation and approval of Quality, Inspection and Test Plans before submission to customers.
- Managing and reporting on KPI's as set at management reviews for QHSE and chairing the review meetings.
- Risk Assessments - reviewing and updating all Risk assessments, COSHH assessments and register, Fire risk assessment, Legionella risk assessments.
- Control of contractors, including selection, checks and approval, and responsibility for emergency Incident control as per specified Emergency procedures.
- Ensuring all Statutory and legal requirements are met and keeping up to date with new legislation and best practices in the industry.
- Controlling and arranging for all Statutory testing and inspection to take place, as well as investigating and reporting any Health & Safety or Environmental Incidents or any safety concerns raised through Compliance Management.
- Working with the Team leaders to improve site safety culture and with the Engineering and Design teams to assess build risk for material handling and access.
- Undertaking Life Cycle Assessments, raw material passport, Green House Gas reporting and environmental product declarations and maintaining Waste management systems including hazardous waste control, scrap metal, wood, cardboard and maintain transfer and consignment note records, and identifying sustainability improvements to reduce resource use and support energy reduction targets.
It is envisaged that the successful QHSE Manager will demonstrate relevant Quality, H&S and Environmental qualifications and previous demonstrable experience of working in a QHSE role, be NEBOSH or IOSH qualified with IEMA/ISEP Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent. The candidate will hold Internal or Lead auditor (ISO 9001, 45001, or 14001) qualifications and be skilled in undertaking Risk Assessments with excellent leadership and project management, communication and commercial skills, with membership of an industry related professional body proving distinctly advantageous.
