Load Bank Sales Engineer in Leicester

Our client has been established for more than a century and is recognised as a global market leader in the design and manufacture of niche electrical solutions. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Load Bank Sales Engineer to complement their professional technical sales team.

Based in Enderby in Leicester and reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the successful candidate will be the front-line contact for customers, tasked with developing strong relationships, handling technical enquiries, and processing orders. Your experience will allow you to understand customer requirements, identify appropriate solutions, and produce preliminary designs which can be costed and quoted to ensure profitable business for the company.

Core duties for this varied and challenging role will include (but not be limited to):

• Processing customer enquiries (via telephone, email or face to face) and managing, understanding, and interpreting their requirements before offering designs and costed solutions.
• Producing quotations/tenders in a timely, clear, detailed, and accurate manner and following up to secure orders.
• Maintaining expert knowledge of products and applications and providing pre-sales technical expertise and product education to new and existing customers.
• Ensuring orders are processed quickly and that information allowing for design and manufacturing is passed to the relevant stakeholders.
• Keeping customers informed of order (contract) status and resolving any issues quickly.
• Maintaining accurate up-to-date records of enquiries, quotations, orders, and customer activity on the ERP system.
• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities both in the UK and overseas.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 2 years previous experience in a similar sales role associated with either load banks sales or related products such as diesel generators and be qualified to at least HNC or above in electrical engineering or equivalent apprenticeship. You will possess a solid understanding of related electrical concepts; voltage, current, power (active and reactive), along with a strong technical mindset with the ability to read and interpret technical data and translate it to others. A customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills at all levels is essential.

Knowledge of and contacts in the Data Centre sector, a degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering, familiarity with large OEMs and contractors or international customers, or previous experience or knowledge of high power or high voltage systems will prove distinctly advantageous.
