Our Derby based client has been established for more than 35 years and are recognised market leaders in the provision of innovative and bespoke integrated systems primarily to the transport, airport and power infrastructure sectors. As a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and ambitious Commissioning Engineer to complement their established and successful team of electrical and control professionals delivering end to end control system solutions.

Working a combination of days and nights throughout the year, the role of Commissioning Engineer works alongside the project team and the development engineers during the commissioning stages of multiple projects and ensuring a smooth handover to the customer. Responsibilities include:

  • Commissioning, testing and troubleshooting installation of equipment and control systems on site.
  • Performing loop checks, I/O testing and functional verification of systems according to the Installation and Commissioning Test document.
  • PLC data input tests including verification of operation to and from plant and field devices into PLCs.
  • Field device set-up.
  • Performing site acceptance tests, fault find and correction of any PLC code or wiring issues.

To be considered for this varied and challenging Commissioning Engineer position offering genuine scope for career progression and development, it is envisaged that successful candidates will demonstrate at least 2 years relevant commissioning work experience and be qualified to at least HNC level or above in electrical or control engineering. Essentially you will hold a full UK driving licence, an EDU/EEA/Swiss passport for working in Europe and have no criminal convictions due to security clearances required by airport authorities.
