Our client has been established for almost 40 years and are recognised market leaders in the design and development, manufacture and distribution of an impressive portfolio of solutions for supply throughout the world. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic Production Planner to complement their existing planning and scheduling division and provide support to the Production Manager in the scheduling of orders and general logistics support to meet the demands of the business.
The successful Production Planner candidate will be responsible for planning production to a defined deadline, requiring an understanding of company needs based on stock, inventory, projects and plans as well as the understanding of general sales and market trends according to the industry and of company objectives in order to co-ordinate activities to support in meeting or exceeding the departmental KPIs and metrics.
Other responsibilities for this varied and challenging Production Planner role will include:
- Understand company objectives and co-ordinate activities to support in meeting or exceeding the departmental KPIs and metrics.
- Plan, schedule and monitor production activities using CyberPlan APS, ensuring optimal use of labour, machinery and raw materials.
- Review and analyse stock levels, inventory status, sales demand, project requirements and market conditions to build accurate and feasible production plans.
- Conduct daily reviews of Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing, and work centre capacity to maintain an achievable and efficient schedule.
- Coordinate closely with the engineering team, manufacturing, assembly, subcontractors and the stock controller to ensure all materials are available when needed.
- Manage and monitor material supply flow; identify shortages, bottlenecks or risks, and take proactive action to resolve them.
- Address production quality issues and support root-cause problem solving and corrective action.
- Produce reports on production performance, capacity utilisation, adherence to plan, OTD and other KPIs.
- Support the effective operation of the RMS warehouse, ensuring timely picking and movement of raw materials.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities within planning, scheduling, stock control and production flow.
To be considered for this exciting new and exclusive Production Planner opportunity based near Coleshill, you will essentially demonstrate extensive hands-on knowledge and experience in the use of SAP / ERP systems along with the Microsoft suite of packages and will demonstrate comprehensive experience of manufacturing processes, ideally gained within a busy pressing or machining environment.
You will realistically be degree qualified or demonstrate at least 5 years' experience gained in a Production Planning role allied to an engineering or technical manufacturing operation. You will possess the ability to define problems, measure/collect data, establish facts and analyse data, select and implement solutions and control/sustain outcomes, and will be a confident influencer and communicator at all levels with a positive and professional demeanour and a 'hands on' approach to your work.
