Job Description

Our established client specialises in the manufacture of a wide range of balers and waste compactors supplied to clients throughout the UK, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth are now seeking to recruit a number of Mechanical Fitter professionals to be based in their Sheffield facility.
Core responsibilities for these varied and challenging Mechanical Fitter positions will include (but not be limited to):
- Assembling and building machinery from engineering drawings.
- Fitting mechanical components including bearings, motors, gearboxes, shafts and rollers.
- Installing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Carrying out mechanical fault finding, adjustments and repairs.
- Testing and inspecting machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely.
- Supporting machinery installation and commissioning when required.
- Working closely with fabrication and engineering teams.
- Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety.
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to the required specification.
Working a 39-hour week with generous overtime available, other benefits for the Mechanical Fitter role include a pension scheme, quarterly bonus based on attendance and scope for progression.
