Job Description
Controls Service Engineers x2 β Siemens PLCs
Shropshire
To Β£55k + Β£4,800 Car allowance + generous overtime
Our client has been established for almost 20 years and are recognised as leading providers of all aspects of hardware and software design through to robot systems integration and commission on a range of bespoke automation solutions for supply to a diverse range of clients throughout the UK, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit two experienced Field Service Engineers to support Siemens PLC controlled Automation solutions both remotely and at customer sites throughout the UK.
Reporting to the Service Manager and tasked with a combination of both planned preventative and reactive service and repair activities as well as providing out of hours stand by support on a fortnight-around support rota, the successful candidates will initially provide remote or telephone assistance before escalating repairs to an on-site visit where required, so it is essential you hold a full UK driving licence and can be flexible to travel as required.
With excellent organisational and communication skills at all levels, you will also support the activities of fellow team members when required and ensure compliance with relevant H&S legislation as applicable and be able to complete detailed service action summaries to be retained for future visits as required.
With strong problem-solving skills across multiple engineering disciplines, essentially you will demonstrate exhaustive Siemens PLC fault find, modification and debug skills as well as solid hardware fault-finding and resolution abilities β such as damaged cable repair or faulty device replacement from spares held at sites.
It is envisaged successful candidates will realistically have at least 3+ yearsβ experience of Siemens TIA portal, with additional experience in Profinet fault finding proving distinctly advantageous, and with experience of working in highly automated environments also proving beneficial.
