Overview
SEN Teaching Assistants are needed for immediate supply positions for a lovely SEN school in the North Tyneside area. Roles include supporting children with needs ranging from ASD, MLD, behavioural issues and PMLD/complex needs. Pupil ages range from Nursery through to 6th form. Roles may involve whole-class support or one-to-one support for pupils with SEND. The school has two nearby sites and you may move between them over a week to provide support wherever it is needed most. Facilities include a hydrotherapy pool on site and class sizes are small.
Responsibilities
- Provide whole-class or one-to-one support to pupils with SEND as required.
- Move between the two school sites as needed to support demand.
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or above; other qualifications such as a degree in Psychology or Education Studies are also acceptable.
- Experience in supporting children with ASD, MLD, behavioural issues or PMLD/complex needs is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn and engage with SEN children is the most important quality.
- Two referees we can contact; DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn from experienced staff at the school.
