A Sixth form College in Peterlee is seeking an outstanding teacher to cover their A-Level English Language & Literature classes for at least one half-term, with the possibility of extension or a permanent appointment for the right person. The post is full-time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 09:00 – 17:00, to start 25th August.
The ideal English Teacher candidate would have the following requirements:
- PGCE – completed or currently in training (with at least one teaching placement)
- Hold a Degree in English Language, English Literature, or a closely related discipline
- Possess A-Level teaching experience in English Language and/or English Literature (delivery or assessed placement)
- Coursework expertise – planning, delivering and assessing A-Level NEA/coursework units
- Availability for the full working pattern noted above, for a minimum of one half-term
- (Desirable) A personal A-Level qualification in English
- Have a passion for teaching English to A level standard
- Have excellent subject knowledge
- Be able to organise themselves
- Be able to engage with pupils in a proactive way
Short-listed applicants will be invited to a panel interview and asked to complete a brief subject-specific teaching task. To apply for this English A level Teacher position with Premier Teachers you must hold QTS or QTLS. We are keen to hear from both experienced teachers as well as ECTs.
