An Intervention Tutor is required for an Alternative Provision school within the Newcastle area. You will join a welcoming team, the role will start asap and will be full time and ongoing long term (8:30am-4:40pm Mon-Thursday, 8:30am-3pm Fri).

The ideal candidate does not need to have a QTS but has a proven track record of intervention work in the role of a HLTA or a Cover Supervisor. They will also have a real wish to work with underprivileged pupils who have social, emotional and mental health issues.

The school is dedicated to excellence in teaching, learning and relationships and demands high standards of behaviour, inclusion and engagement, as well as personal and collective responsibility. Class sizes are small to encourage close relationships and a personal learning approach. The school is mixed sex and has supportive and friendly staff and managers.

The ideal candidate would:

  • Have excellent subject knowledge
  • Be able to organise themselves
  • Be able to engage with children with SEMH

In addition, you must:

  • Provide two referees we can contact
  • Have a DBS form or be prepared to obtain one
