PSN have partnered with the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) – a global start-up disrupting the world of endurance sport – to help find an FP&A Analyst to join their growing Finance team.

The Role:
We’re looking for a commercially minded and highly collaborative FP&A Analyst to join the finance team and play a pivotal role in connecting our Events Operations with Finance. This person will help us track performance, model future scenarios, and turn data into actionable insights that support decision-making across our global events calendar.
You’ll act as the bridge between our event delivery teams and the finance function – supporting budgeting, forecasting, post-event analysis,and business case modelling. Your work will directly inform how we plan, deliver, and grow our event portfolio.

Responsibilities
Business Partnering
- Act as the primaryfinance partner, collaborating across teams to provide clarity, structure, and supporton all financial matters, driving strategic decision-making and performance.
- Support event planning with budget ownership, scenario modelling, and cash flow visibility
- Attend regular planning and debrief sessions with Ops to understand financial impact of decisions and help shape resourcing
Budget & Rolling Forecast
- Lead monthly re-forecasting of event costs in partnership with Event Leads, providing rolling forecasts that account for real-time changes (e.g., permit fees, weather impacts, fluctuating attendance).
- Build and maintain comprehensive financial models for current and upcoming events, including detailed scenario planning and margin analysis.
- Track actuals vs. forecast with detailed variance analysis and commentary, ensuring visibility across Event level, Competition level (T100 / T50 / Challenger), and PTO Group level.
Performance Tracking & Analysis
- Develop tools and trackers that help us monitor the performance of mass participation, commercial partnerships, and operations spend
- Provide post-event analysis to surface learnings and improve decision-making for future races
- Prepare high-level dashboards using highlighting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like Revenue/ Cost Per Participant, Sponsorship Margin, YoY growth.
- Conduct post-event financial reviews. Compareactual event spend against the budget, identifying why variances occurred and how to optimise costs for the next event cycle.
Process & Data Management
- Help streamline budgeting and reporting workflows between Finance and Events
- Support the development of reporting templates and processes to make financial data more accessible across teams
- Collaborate with the wider finance team on improvements to reporting systemsand data integrity
Who we’re lookingfor / Profile
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) and relevant finance/analytical degree is desirable.
- 2-4+ years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or business partnering – ideally within events, sport, entertainment, or a similar operationally complex environment
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and strong financial modelling ability
- Ownership of Event Operations budgeting and forecasting process, with the opportunity to drive wider commercial strategy
- Naturally collaborative and curious – you’re energisedby working closely with non-finance teams
- Strong communicator, able to translate numbers into clear stories and make finance accessible to stakeholders
- Self-starter with a sharp attention to detail, but also able to zoom out and think strategically
- Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment is a plus
- Exposure to accounting systems or BI tools (e.g. Xero, NetSuite, Power BI) a bonus, but not essential
- Passion for sport, live events, or mission-driven organisations is a nice-to-have
