Our client has a vacancy for a qualified Marine Engineer to carry out service, diagnostic, repair, overhaul and installation work.

They are a specialist marine power, systems and equipment supplier and service provider and are UK distributors and dealers for the industry leading brands operating from three branches along the UK South Coast. They are the South Coast Volvo Penta Centre and a dealer for Honda Marine, Yanmar, Humphree, Torqeedo, Sealegs and Yamaha. The customer base is broad ranging from individual boat owners and operators to major UK boat builders including leisure and commercial marine sectors.

This vacancy is for a qualified Marine Engineer to carry out service, diagnostic, repair, overhaul and installation work on site and at workshops . To be considered for this position you must have completed a Marine Engineering Apprenticeship to City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 or equivalent, have a minimum of 2 years experience post apprenticeship and attended manufacturer training courses provided by industry leaders, in particular Volvo Penta. You will require experience of equipment and systems on boats of up to 40m and ideally of the engine and gearbox brands we represent. You must have excellent problem solving and diagnostic capabilities together with knowledge of engine management systems and general boat systems. With the growth in marine hybrid propulsion, knowledge and experience of electrics and generators will be an advantage. You must work to the highest standards un-supervised and take responsibility for your work, an uncompromising approach to quality of work and customer satisfaction is required.

Manufacturer training courses are provided to all our engineers to ensure we remain leaders in our field with highly trained and competent staff.

The job is based mainly along the South coast, however when required travel within the UK and overseas with nights away is a requirement for this position. A service van with fuel card is provided to engineers and this is available for personal use.
