This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming, knowledgeable leadership team within a well-established children's home supporting young people aged 8-18 with learning and physical disabilities. You'll help shape a culture built on dignity, independence, communication, and consistency, while also being supported to grow into future management roles with access to Level 5 training and leadership development.
As Deputy Manager, you'll be central to the home: guiding staff, promoting therapeutic and positive behavioural approaches, and ensuring every young person feels safe, understood and valued, no matter how they communicate. You'll also gain the confidence to step up and manage the home when required, working alongside a strong regional support network.

About the Role
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
- Lead and mentor staff, promoting best practice and child-centred care
- Build an environment where young people feel safe, understood and empowered
- Model positive behaviour support and communication strategies
- Assist with rotas, staffing, audits, reporting and operational oversight
- Drive a nurturing, structured and independence-focused culture
- Ensure all care meets regulatory expectations and safeguarding procedures
- Support the home in promoting choice, independence and personalised routines
- Take responsibility for shift leadership and step up for the Manager when required
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a children's residential setting (Senior or Deputy level)
- Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children & Young People / Residential Childcare
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and compliance
- Experience supporting young people with learning or physical disabilities
- Confident with rotas, shift oversight and basic budgeting
- Resilient, child-focused and able to lead by example
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
