Salary: £26,000 - £35,000 OTE (Uncapped)

We are working with a well-established automotive business that is currently seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to join a busy and successful service team. This role plays a central part in ensuring the smooth running of the workshop, maintaining high standards, and supporting the delivery of an exceptional customer experience.
The Role
As a Workshop Controller, you will oversee the flow of work through the workshop, ensuring all tasks are allocated efficiently and completed to the required standards. You will work closely with technicians, apprentices, service staff and other internal departments to keep operations running smoothly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing job allocation and workflow within the workshop
- Maintaining quality control, including checking correct parts ordering, conducting audits and ensuring compliance
- Coaching and supporting vehicle technicians and apprentices
- Working collaboratively with other departments to deliver a seamless customer journey
- Scheduling work to meet customer needs and workshop targets
- Providing accurate estimates for repairs and servicing and setting realistic timescales
- Assisting technicians with technical challenges and identifying solutions
- Ensuring all work meets DVSA, health & safety, and internal standards
About You
- Relevant technical qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent)
- Previous experience in the automotive sector, ideally within workshop control or as a senior technician
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Confident IT user with strong communication abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions
