Premier Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a well-established food production company in Woolwich to recruit an Assistant Production Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a food manufacturing background who already has leadership experience.
You will support the Production Manager in overseeing daily operations within a busy manufacturing environment, supervising a team of 10+ staff while ensuring production targets, quality standards, and compliance requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervising and supporting a production team of 10+ staff
- Allocating daily work across the production area
- Monitoring work in progress and planning daily production activities
- Managing staff performance, attendance, and motivation
- Ordering production consumables, plant, and equipment
- Booking transport for UK deliveries
- Working closely with the Production Manager to ensure goods are produced on time for dispatch
- Liaising with Logistics, Quality Control, and Stock departments
- Previous experience within the food manufacturing industry is essential
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience within production
- Knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and HSE standards
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Experience collaborating across multiple departments
- FLT licence or in-house licence
- Good attention to detail with a logical and practical approach
