Premier Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Transport Operator to join a busy and growing transport operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous transport, logistics, or driver coordination experience who enjoys problem-solving, working in a fast-paced environment, and supporting drivers to ensure smooth daily operations.
The Role
You will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day running of a small team of drivers, ensuring operational issues are dealt with efficiently while maintaining excellent communication across the transport function.
Duties Will Include:
- Managing and supporting a small team of drivers
- Assisting drivers with operational issues and delays
- Problem solving and reacting quickly to changing situations
- Monitoring deliveries and vehicle movements
- Communicating with drivers, customers, and internal departments
- Supporting daily transport planning operations
- Ensuring transport compliance and company procedures are followed
- Handling driver queries and providing operational support
- Maintaining accurate transport records and updates
Requirements
- Previous experience within transport, logistics, or fleet operations preferred but not essential
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise workloads
- Good problem-solving ability
- Computer literate with good administration skills
- Experience dealing with drivers or transport teams advantageous
- Reliable, proactive, and team-oriented approach
