We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment to facilitate the loading, unloading, and movement of goods within the facility. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.

Hours of work: 8am-5pm / 9am-6pm Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload goods from lorries.
  • Move materials within the warehouse efficiently, ensuring accurate placement in designated areas.
  • Perform regular inspections and basic repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using warehouse management systems.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring all products are accounted for and properly documented.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and handling materials.
  • Conduct heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and familiarity with various types of material handling equipment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment.
  • Basic mathematical skills for inventory management and record keeping.
  • Experience in load and unload operations, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
  • Ability to handle heavy lifting tasks consistently throughout the shift.
