We are currently recruiting for three new Field Managers on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing national organisation. These opportunities are ideal for experienced field-based / mobile workforce managers and are not limited to candidates from the waste or utilities sector. Our client is keen to hear from managers who have led large, geographically spread field teams from sectors such as:
- Courier & parcel delivery
- Logistics & transport
- Field service & engineering
- Waste management
- Facilities management
- Utilities & infrastructure
The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of field-based engineers delivering both planned and reactive 24/7 services. This is a hands-on, people-focused role within a fast-moving operational environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating field engineers across your region
- Carrying out site inspections and operational audits
- Monitoring performance, productivity and service delivery
- Supporting high-profile and complex operational jobs
- Managing vehicle utilization and fleet issues
- Ensuring effective resource planning and availability
- Working closely with planners and office-based teams
- Conducting one-to-ones, performance reviews and development meetings
- Supporting wellbeing, engagement and retention of field staff
- Managing disciplinary processes, interviews and reviews in partnership with HR
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety compliance
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
- Supporting the Operations and Senior Leadership teams as required
Salary:
Basic salary: £36,000 per annum (depending on experience). On-call bonus allowance included OTE up to £41,500 per annum. Company Vehicle & Fuel Card Provided.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, on-call rota. Start times to be agreed (typically day shifts).

About you:
This role would suit an experienced Field / Operations Manager who has managed mobile or multi-site teams. You will have:
- Proven people management experience within a field-based or remote workforce
- Strong operational and performance management skills
- A proactive and supportive leadership style
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- A strong commitment to health & safety
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience within utilities, drainage or wastewater is advantageous, however candidates from courier, logistics, transport and other field-based industries are strongly encouraged to apply.
