About the Role:
We are looking for an established Technical Project Director or an experienced Technical Senior Project Manager looking for the next career step. You will have significant experience in a technical production role and experience of leading/managing a team.
Premier Production is one of the UK's leading technical production companies offering lighting, audio, video, staging, special effects and technical production services. Working across a variety of sectors including corporate events, festivals, concerts and venues, clients include BBC, UEFA, Birmingham City Football Club and Aston University plus many more.
In this role you will manage the Project Management team and oversee the technical delivery of all projects. This includes being involved right from the sales stage through to final delivery. You will ensure that all aspects, including pricing, planning, resourcing, technical execution, and logistics, are completed efficiently, on schedule and on budget.
You will have project management responsibility for some of our larger projects and clients and will also be responsible for reviewing and streamlining our processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Technical Project Managers ensuring crew and equipment are effectively allocated for each project
- Oversee the complete technical lifecycle of projects from initial planning to execution, ensuring all technical requirements are fulfilled
- Supporting the Project Managers with monitoring the availability of equipment and resources, addressing any shortages or delays by coordinating with suppliers, internal teams, and external partners
- Liaise with clients as necessary to ensure their operational and technical requirements are met
- Supporting with any health and safety requirements and ensuring all risk assessments and method statements are completed as necessary
- Ensure financial efficiency of projects by monitoring costs and profit margins
- Manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial efficiency while upholding high service delivery standards
- Resolve any on-site issues related to technical setups, equipment, or logistics, making immediate decisions to keep projects on schedule
- Project Management of larger projects as necessary including quoting, budgeting, client liaison and on site management
- Reviewing and streamlining our current processes and systems to ensure they are efficient and scalable
- Supporting the sales process with managing and allocating new business enquiries, generating quotes as necessary and liaising with the Sales team
- Member of the management team including attending meetings and contributing to the strategic growth and development of the business
Key Skills and Experience:
- A proven track record of senior technical project management experience in the live events industry ideally within a technical production company
- Experience of leading and managing technical teams
- Full understanding of equipment and technical setups for live events including audio, lighting, staging, screen and special effects
- Experience with budgeting and negotiating all scale of projects
- Able to understand and interpret technical drawings and have a basic use of CAD programs
- Working knowledge of current UK and European Health and Safety regulations
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to resolve issues related to technical execution or logistics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong leadership and people management skills
