*Job Overview*
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class One HGV Driver specializing in powered access and construction plant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles, including flatbed trucks, to deliver and collect powered access equipment and construction machinery across various sites. Your expertise will ensure timely, secure, and professional transportation services, supporting the smooth operation of construction projects. *Responsibilities*
* Safely operate Class One Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), including flatbed trucks, to transport powered access equipment and construction plant. * Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each journey to ensure compliance with safety standards and roadworthiness. * Load and secure heavy machinery and equipment onto flatbeds or specialized trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability during transit. * Plan efficient delivery routes, adhering to schedules while maintaining flexibility for unforeseen delays or site-specific requirements. * Maintain accurate documentation for all deliveries, including delivery notes, logs, and compliance records. * Communicate effectively with site managers, clients, and dispatch teams to coordinate pickups and drop-offs seamlessly. * Follow all legal regulations related to commercial driving, including hours of service, load limits, and safety protocols.
*Skills*
* Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver with a focus on flatbed transportation of heavy machinery or construction equipment. * Strong driving skills with a valid Class One HGV license and relevant certifications. * Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and heavy load transportation. * Ability to handle physical loading/unloading tasks safely using appropriate equipment when necessary. * Excellent organizational skills to plan routes efficiently and manage documentation accurately. * Good communication skills for liaising with clients, site personnel, and team members effectively. * Prior experience with delivery driver roles within the construction or powered access sectors is Essential.
