My client is a very well-established business who specialize in the fabrication, coating, and assembly of specialist products for a variety of high-tech industries.

They are looking for a skilled Production Engineer to join their team.

This is a varied and hands-on engineering role, where you will help translate customer requirements into efficient, cost-effective and repeatable manufacturing processes.

Working closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Customer Service and external suppliers, you will play an important role in ensuring customer requirements are manufactured to the high standards required in the most effective and efficient way.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Reviewing customer orders to ensure all technical information is accurately reviewed and saved.
  • Creating and maintaining item numbers, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routings within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Producing and maintaining material, component and manufacturing drawings.
  • Establishing production costs and maintaining accurate costing information.
  • Designing tooling, jigs and fixtures to support efficient and repeatable manufacturing.
  • Providing day-to-day engineering support to manufacturing operations.
  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure tooling and components meet specifications.
  • Supporting engineering change management through updates to drawings, BOMs, routings and production documentation.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, cost performance and throughput.
  • Contributing to process optimisation, standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working collaboratively with Manufacturing, Production Coordination, Supply Chain, Quality and Customer Service teams.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate

  • An engineering qualification or equivalent practical engineering experience within a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems, including BOM creation and manufacturing routings.
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation control.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
