The Role Our client is seeking a motivated and creative Marketing Assistant to support their busy marketing and communications team. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to get involved in digital content, social media, events, and stakeholder engagement.
Location: Hanley
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm
Salary: Up to £25,000 (DOE)
Responsibilities
- Create engaging content for digital campaigns, websites, newsletters, and marketing materials
- Write and edit copy tailored to different audiences, ensuring accuracy and consistency of tone
- Assist with managing social media platforms, including planning, posting, and monitoring engagement
- Support video and photo content creation, from filming short clips at events to basic editing and uploading
- Help maintain shared inboxes, responding to enquiries or escalating where appropriate
- Contribute to the preparation of marketing reports and presentations
- Research, draft, and upload news stories, case studies, and business features for online platforms
- Monitor analytics to track engagement and suggest improvements for future content
- Assist with the organisation of roundtables, forums, and business events, including invitations, logistics, and on-the-day support
- Provide follow-up communications and collate feedback from attendees
- Support preparation of meeting agendas, briefings, and accurate note-taking
- Conduct background research on relevant policy developments and business issues
- Help draft newsletters, blogs, and updates to share with members and partners
- Use CRM systems and maintain accurate records
About You
- Creative, organised, and detail-oriented
- Confident writing and editing content for a range of platforms
- Familiar with social media management and digital communication tools
- Comfortable speaking with stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn new skills
- Experience in marketing, communications, or events is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate enthusiasm and transferable skills
