We\’re recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer in the material handling industry, known for their award-winning electric lift trucks and long-standing reputation for quality engineering, ergonomic design, and reliability. With a strong presence across the UK and internationally, they are looking to expand their field service team with a skilled and motivated engineer.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you\’ll be responsible for servicing and repairing forklift trucks and other material handling equipment at customer sites. This is a mobile role covering planned maintenance, fault-finding, and breakdown response, ensuring safe, professional, and cost-effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete service, repair, and maintenance of electric lift trucks at customer sites.
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain accurate documentation (job sheets, parts usage, etc.).
- Manage and monitor van stock to ensure availability of parts.
- Maintain company equipment, tools, and van in a safe, clean condition.
- Work to planned schedules and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Deliver high standards of customer service and technical support.
What We\’re Looking For
You\’ll need knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Hydraulic Systems
You\’ll Also Need
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Strong fault-finding and repair skills
- Experience working in a service/maintenance environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
- Commitment to Health & Safety and quality processes
