KPI Recruiting is seeking a Cargo Operative for our client based in Manchester.
Working Hours and Pay
- 4 on 4 off shift pattern
- 08:00 - 20:00
- Pay rate: £12.75 per hour
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all activities related to processing freight (inbound & outbound)
- Receive goods, check for correct quantity, quality, and damages
- Pick, check, and load pallets for outgoing freight
- Handle various internal transport methods
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and electric pump trucks
- Create and complete OSD reports accurately
- Check cargo manifests and coordinate with Warehouse Agents or Leads
- Perform double checks on freight, ULDs, references, and AWB numbers
- Conduct Dangerous Goods and Lithium checks (if certified)
- Build and break down ULDs as needed
- Follow security and compliance protocols
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Meet KPI standards according to company procedures
- Keep transport systems, storage, and work areas clean
- Comply with internal and external regulations
- Report issues to management when necessary
Candidate Requirements
- Reach or Counterbalance Forklift License
- Basic DBS check
- Five years of employment history
- Previous experience as a Cargo Operative (preferred but not essential)
- Good time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- PPE including safety boots and Hi Vis
