KPI Recruiting is seeking a Cargo Operative for our client based in Manchester.

Working Hours and Pay

  • 4 on 4 off shift pattern
  • 08:00 - 20:00
  • Pay rate: £12.75 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all activities related to processing freight (inbound & outbound)
  • Receive goods, check for correct quantity, quality, and damages
  • Pick, check, and load pallets for outgoing freight
  • Handle various internal transport methods
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts and electric pump trucks
  • Create and complete OSD reports accurately
  • Check cargo manifests and coordinate with Warehouse Agents or Leads
  • Perform double checks on freight, ULDs, references, and AWB numbers
  • Conduct Dangerous Goods and Lithium checks (if certified)
  • Build and break down ULDs as needed
  • Follow security and compliance protocols
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Meet KPI standards according to company procedures
  • Keep transport systems, storage, and work areas clean
  • Comply with internal and external regulations
  • Report issues to management when necessary

Candidate Requirements

  • Reach or Counterbalance Forklift License
  • Basic DBS check
  • Five years of employment history
  • Previous experience as a Cargo Operative (preferred but not essential)
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • PPE including safety boots and Hi Vis
