About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Rental Operations Supervisor to oversee our busy car and van rental branch, managing both retail customers and commercial business accounts. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will be responsible for ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations, maximising fleet utilisation, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting business growth across both B2C and B2B segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily rental operations including reservations, vehicle dispatch, and returns
- Manage fleet availability and allocate vehicles across retail and commercial demand
- Act as a key contact for business clients, ensuring service delivery in line with agreements
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of rental agents, drivers, and yard staff
- Handle escalated customer issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Support revenue growth through upselling, pricing compliance, and account development
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance, servicing, and compliance requirements
- Ensure adherence to company policies, insurance standards, and health & safety regulations
- Produce operational and performance reports
About You
- Proven experience in car/van rental, fleet operations, or a similar logistics environment
- Experience supervising or leading a team in a fast‑paced setting
- Strong understanding of both retail and commercial customer needs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Commercial awareness with a focus on revenue and performance
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Full UK driving licence (required)
