About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our Ford, MG & Peugeot franchised motor dealership. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to build a long-term career in automotive finance, with a structured development plan leading to the role of Dealership Accountant. Working within a fast-paced retail environment, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business while gaining exposure to all aspects of dealership accounting, including manufacturer reporting, vehicle stock control, and management accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Process daily banking, cash postings, and supplier invoices
- Assist with sales ledger and vehicle deal postings
- Maintain accurate accounting records within the dealer management system (e.g. Kerridge Autoline)
- Support vehicle stock accounting and reconciliations
- Perform regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of month-end accounts, including accruals and journals
- Support manufacturer reporting requirements (e.g. Ford Motor Company, MG UK & Peugeot)
- Liaise with operational departments including Sales, Service, and Parts
Development & Succession Plan
This role is designed as a clear pathway to Dealership Accountant. You will receive:
- Structured training across all dealership accounting functions

- Full exposure to management accounts preparation and financial reporting
- Progressive increase in responsibility aligned to your development
About You
- Studying towards AAT or a similar accounting qualification (or keen to start)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- A proactive and career-driven mindset
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
