The main role of the Cell Leader is to work within the cell workstation, organise and control all work carried out within the workstations/production unit and ensure that the correct quality standards are met at all times. In addition, the Cell Leader is to organise and motivate their team in achieving their workstation's objectives.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Manufacturing process experience, preferably within the modular building discipline.
- Previous leadership experience preferred but not essential as training can be given.
Tasks:
- Ensure at the start of the day that all works on scopes for their workstation are issued out to operatives to cover operative’s hours and targets set for operatives are clear and works are ticked off when complete.
- Ensure any extras done by operatives not on scope are recorded on the white card extras page or Site Audit Pro.
- Check works and ensure HF100s are signed by operatives and countersigned throughout the day.
- Do daily materials list for the next day’s modules due into their workstations.
- By 8:30am, issue tasks, complete material requests, and start hands-on works.
- Check COP Wed and Friday timesheets, completed and handed into supervisor.
- Spend the last 30 minutes of a day to review scopes and workloads for the following day.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Achieve workstation targets and objectives including productivity, performance, production quality, health & safety, and waste minimisation.
- Motivate and lead the Cell team.
- Work within the Cell team on daily targets.
- Liaise with Production Supervisor regarding any changes affecting the unit or quality issues.
- Encourage ideas and improvements from your Cell team to continuously improve processes.
- Ensure all documents are completed and filled in correctly and on time.
- Maintain housekeeping in your workstation to required standards.
- Refer any issues requiring third-party involvement to your supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety requirements including wearing the correct PPE.
- Report all accidents and near miss incidents to your production supervisor within 1 hour.
- Ensure workstation materials are stored and handled correctly and safely.
- Notify the production supervisor of any member of the Cell arriving late or leaving early.
