The main role of the Cell leader is to work within the cell workstation, organise and control all work carried out within the workstations/production unit and ensure that the correct quality standards are met at all times. In addition, the Cell leader is to organise and motivate their team in achieving their workstation's objectives.
Experience & Qualifications
- Manufacturing process experience, preferably within the modular building discipline.
- Previous leadership experience preferred but not essential as training can be given.
Tasks
- Ensure at the start of the day that all works on scopes for their workstation are issued out to operatives to cover operative’s hours and targets set for operatives are clear and works are ticked off when complete.
- Ensure any extras done by operatives not on scope are recorded on the white card extras page or Site Audit Pro.
- Check works and checking HF100s are signed by operatives and countersigned by themselves throughout the day.
- Do daily materials list for the next day’s modules due into their workstations working materials out from programme, drawings, scope and df30 etc.
- By 8:30am they should have issued tasks, done material requests and should then be able to start hands-on works, dropping off as and when to answer questions for operatives and check works.
- COP Wed and Friday timesheets are checked, completed handed into supervisor.
- Suggestion that they spend the last 30 minutes of a day to review scopes and workloads for the following day.
Principle Accountabilities
- Achieve workstation targets and objectives which include those associated with productivity and performance, production quality, health & safety and waste minimisation.
- Motivate and lead the Cell team.
- Work within the Cell team on daily targets.
- Liaise with Production Supervisor regarding any changes that may affect the unit moving into the next workstation or quality issues in that unit.
- Encourage ideas and improvements from your Cell team to continuously improve your workstation processes.
- Ensure through your Cell team that all documents are completed and filled in correctly and on time.
- Ensure through your Cell team that housekeeping in your workstation is maintained to the required standards and improved where possible.
- Any issues which require third-party involvement, i.e. technical, to be referred to your supervisor for action.
- Ensure all members of your Cell team (and yourself) comply with all Health & Safety requirements including the wearing of the correct PPE.
- Ensure all accidents and near miss incidents are reported to your production supervisor within 1 hour of the incident.
- Ensure workstation materials are stored and handled correctly and safely.
- Notify the production supervisor of any member of the Cell arriving late onto the shop floor or leaving the workplace early.
