The Premier League’s Finance Department is looking for a recently qualified accountant with an audit background to join the team and be involved in financial regulatory matters of member Clubs. This role within the team will accommodate the increasing Club regulatory landscape and the implementation of new financial regulations from Season 2026/27.

We are looking for a candidate with strong attention to detail, technical ability and strong interpersonal skills.

We support and provide a framework for youth development, protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.

Where possible, you will attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.

The role:

  • Liaise with club finance officers and be the key point of contact in relation to regulatory submissions including Premier League financial regulations, UEFA Club licensing & monitoring and data submissions to the Independent Football Regulator.
  • Verifying and data analysis of the above submissions and general Club finance analysis.
  • Liaise with other Premier League departments e.g. legal, policy and IT to support work on relevant regulatory matters.
  • Conduct review of transfer fee payments to be paid to Clubs.
  • Involvement in ad hoc, Premier League and Club finance projects.

Requirements of the role:

  • Chartered accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.) – up to two years post qualification.
  • Audit experience, either as an auditor or an accountant that has been the key point of contact whilst being audited.
  • Robust technical accounting knowledge with the ability to apply IFRS/GAAP standards in practice.
  • Professional approach whilst dealing with confidential matters.
  • Able to build good working relationships, particularly with CFOs and other senior finance officers both internally and externally.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Time management skills, ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good IT skills particularly in MS Office.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and a good team player.
