Overview
The Premier League Foundation are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager who will be working with the Head of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance. The preferred candidate will coordinate our quality assurance (QA) arrangements to drive high standards across all Premier League and partner-funded programmes. The preferred candidate will work collaboratively with our funders and football club charities to evidence the quality and impact of Premier League Foundation investments. In this role, you will oversee and support a small team of Independent Assessors (IAs), and work with our Programme and Grants Team in their quality development function to ensure all programmes are delivered to the highest possible standards.

The Premier League Foundation was established in 2010 to distribute funding provided by the Premier League and its partners to professional football club charities across England and Wales, supporting them in their delivery in thousands of community venues and schools across the country. A total of 106 club charities are supported across the Premier League, English Football League, and National League. More than 2.5 million individuals have benefitted from the charity, which aims to foster positive sporting, health, personal and education opportunities for children, young people, and the wider community. The role
- Lead the coordination of QA activity across football club charities delivering Premier League Foundation funded programmes and projects.
- Develop, manage, and deliver a schedule of Objective Evaluation (OE) visits to funded club charities which is flexible, responsive to risk and aligned with programme priorities.
- Provide coordination, oversight, support, and supervision to a small team of Independent Assessors (IAs) who will conduct the majority of OE visits.
- Ensure efficient deployment and supervision of IAs, in line with relevant arrangements for individuals operating under worker contracts.
- Undertake OE visits personally where required, ensuring consistency, high standards and thorough evidence gathering.
- Ensure relevant Premier League Foundation staff, IAs and club charity QA leads fully understand the minimum operating standards for programmes and funds.
- Work with the Data and Insight Executive to analyse qualitative and quantitative data from IAs, Premier League Foundation staff and club charities, identifying priority areas and informing a risk‑based QA approach.
- Collaborate across the Premier League Foundation Team to explore IT system alignment across projects, processes, and functions.
- Produce regular reports for colleagues across the Premier League Foundation team, the Senior Leadership Team, the Audit and Risk Committee and the Premier League as a funder, providing progress updates, analysis, insights and recommendations relating to policy, practice, and funding decisions.
- Support Premier League Foundation staff to drive quality improvement, including the development and exploration of new and innovative delivery models and practice enhancements.
- Maintain strong communication with QA Leads across football club charities and other senior leaders, ensuring they are kept up to date on QA processes, developments, and expectations.
- Liaise with relevant Premier League departments including the Premier League Communities Team, to ensure alignment and consistency across workstreams.
- Undertake additional duties as required, supporting colleagues during peak periods and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Role Requirements
- Knowledge and experience in quality assurance, including assessing delivery, outcomes and impact using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Proven experience of setting, applying, and assessing against quality standards using a range of evaluation techniques.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate, influence and support a diverse network of partners with varying perspectives and needs.
- Excellent analytical abilities, with strong attention to detail and the capacity to gather, interpret and collate insight (and to support others to do so).
- Highly effective communicator, able to engage a range of different audiences using different mediums, with excellent written and spoken English.
- Demonstrable project management skills, including the ability to manage and coordinate activity across a complex stakeholder landscape.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability manage and administer a dynamic schedule of QA activity.
- Ability to work well under pressure, exercising sound judgement and strong problem‑solving skills.
- High level of computer proficiency, particularly with MS Office applications and in working with monitoring and evaluation systems and databases.
- Ability to implement relevant safeguarding practices effectively and confidently.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Willingness to travel within England and Wales as required.
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
