Job Description
Our client is a rapidly growing financial advisory firm with a national footprint of Insurance Advisors, Mortgage Advisors and Financial Advisors. As part of their next stage of growth, they are looking to recruit a National Sales Manager who will play a pivotal role in their growth
The business currently has 80 Advisors managed by 8 Area Managers, with plans to double in size within next 12 – 24 months, plus continued growth thereafter. As National Sales Manager you will be the key conduit between their growing Advisor salesforce and the Directors of the business, with your focus on growth in revenue, productivity, headcount and referral partnerships.
The salesforce consists of self-employed Advisors, as such it is important you have prior exposure to self-employment to be able to have empathy with the team, whether that is from firsthand experience as an Advisor or through prior management. Alongside this, our client is looking for the successful individual to bring an element of corporate structure as they expand their business, it is important to have robust processes and policies in place.
Despite being a national business with rapid growth, they have successfully maintained a fantastic team bond and supportive culture which is paramount this is maintained. For example, the business holds quarterly team events, including an annual conference and annual sports days. As National Sales Manager, you will play a key role in leading sales management and training initiatives.
Training and ongoing professional development is a key pillar of the business, often with their team starting as Insurance Advisors offering life assurance, IP, CIC, before progressing onto mortgage advice and more recently investment and pensions, plus route into team leadership roles. They have an excellent partner who delivers the training for them; however it is important you regularly encourage and facilitate development.
National Sales Manager Requirements
- You must have leadership experience within financial advice profession (insurance, mortgages or wealth) and have led sizeable salesforces – individuals without FS experience will be unsuccessful
- You should have experience of both employed and self-employment and be able to manage Advisors from both
- You should be motivated by the chance to join a growth focused business
- You must be comfortable with travel, as expected within a National Sales Manager role
