I'm currently working with a well-established global engineering company who are looking for a Senior RF Engineer to join their growing team in Enfield. The business has been operating for decades and develops advanced technology solutions across industries such as maritime, defence, and surveillance.
This role will see you taking ownership of RF and antenna development across a variety of projects, leading work packages from concept through to testing and delivery. You'll play a key role in both new product development and the ongoing improvement of existing systems, while acting as a subject matter expert across RF and antenna design within the business. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, and production, as well as external suppliers and customers. The role also involves supporting manufacturing, resolving technical challenges, and mentoring less experienced engineers where required. The role requires on-site working in Enfield 3 days a week, with some flexibility available.
Technical Requirements- Strong experience in RF and microwave design.
- Experience with PCB design at microwave frequencies, including schematics and layout reviews.
- Knowledge of RF components such as power amplifiers, LNAs, filters, mixers, circulators, and PLLs.
- Experience with RF system design (e.g. cascade analysis).
- Familiarity with RF test equipment such as spectrum analysers and vector network analysers.
- Strong understanding of antenna theory, design, and testing (including array antennas).
- Experience with design for manufacture and test.
- Background working in a production environment (e.g. SMT processes).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team.
- Experience with Altium PCB design tools.
- Familiarity with RF/antenna modelling tools such as Altair.
- Experience within radar or communications systems.
- Knowledge of digital electronics or power supply design.
- Experience with systems engineering or requirements management.
- Test automation using MATLAB or Python.
- Understanding of EMC and regulatory standards (e.g. FCC, ETSI).
- £60,000-£65,000.
