An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Development Engineer to join an innovative engineering and technology business operating within the transport and safety systems sector. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, developing cutting‑edge products, and working across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to deployment and in‑service support.

You’ll work closely with technical leadership and cross‑functional teams to help shape future product development, improve existing systems, and provide technical expertise on advanced video and safety technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and improvement of safety‑critical technology products
  • Provide technical input into proposals, tenders, and product roadmaps
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system‑level issues
  • Produce technical documentation, schematics, and product datasheets
  • Ensure products meet evolving compliance and cyber‑security standards
  • Work on innovative solutions across electronics, systems engineering, and video applications
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree qualified in Electronics, Systems Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge or interest in product development and engineering systems
  • Understanding of networking and communication protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS232/485 etc.)
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset
  • CCTV or video systems knowledge (H.264/H.265/MJPEG)
  • Experience with embedded systems or electronics design
  • Rail, transport, or safety‑critical industry experience
