We are looking for an experienced Electronics Engineer to join a small, multidisciplinary engineering team delivering complex technical solutions within the Defence and Security sector. The role combines hands‑on engineering with technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver electronics‑focused engineering work packages across development and delivery phases.
- Check over and review the electronic equipment and devices.
- Work effectively within small, diverse technical teams using flexible delivery approaches.
- Translate technical requirements into practical engineering solutions, particularly for Defence and Security applications.
- Support project delivery, bid activity, and commercial objectives within a private‑sector environment.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, clients and customers and ensure the project is hitting targets and timelines, within budget.
- Handle multiple projects at once.
Experience and Skills

- Proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and operate with minimal supervision.
- Experience managing technical projects and holding technicians accountable for delivery and quality.
- Meticulous approach to engineering change, configuration control, and obsolescence management.
- Strong customer‑facing and written communication skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in the UK Defence and Security sector is great but experience from other sectors is also considered.
- Subject matter expertise in electronics.
- Experience delivering technical services or products to the UK public sector.
- You will need to hold or be eligible for Security Clearance for this role.
