The predicted salary is between 17 - 25 £ per hour.
We are seeking a Controls / PLC Engineer to develop, debug and maintain control programs for new and existing machinery. The role involves creating reliable, high-quality software, supporting machine commissioning and troubleshooting, and working closely with Electrical Design Engineers to ensure all control system requirements are met.
The Control Engineer role will involve:
- Writing and debugging PLC programs
- Developing and improving HMI screens
- Supporting machine build, testing and commissioning
- Troubleshooting control system faults
- Working with Electrical Engineers on sensors, drives and safety systems
- Ensuring software is safe, reliable and properly documented
The Control Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong PLC programming experience
- Must have some experience with Omron PLC
- Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of drives, servos and control systems
