The predicted salary is between 17 - 25 £ per hour.

We are seeking a Controls / PLC Engineer to develop, debug and maintain control programs for new and existing machinery. The role involves creating reliable, high-quality software, supporting machine commissioning and troubleshooting, and working closely with Electrical Design Engineers to ensure all control system requirements are met.

The Control Engineer role will involve:

  • Writing and debugging PLC programs
  • Developing and improving HMI screens
  • Supporting machine build, testing and commissioning
  • Troubleshooting control system faults
  • Working with Electrical Engineers on sensors, drives and safety systems
  • Ensuring software is safe, reliable and properly documented

The Control Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong PLC programming experience
  • Must have some experience with Omron PLC
  • Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of drives, servos and control systems
