We are working with an innovative deep-tech hardware company developing next-generation data storage technology. Following recent investment and continued growth, the business is expanding its engineering leadership team and is now looking to hire a Head of Electronics. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electronics professional to lead the development of complex PCB-based hardware systems used within advanced storage infrastructure products. The role combines hands-on electronics engineering with team leadership, working closely with multidisciplinary R&D teams to take products from concept through to manufacturing. The team size is 3-4 at the moment with plans to grow this year. The role is based in Central London and requires onsite working 2 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the electronics engineering team across hardware development projects.
- Oversee PCB design, schematic capture, hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation activities.
- Drive development across analog, digital, mixed-signal, sensor interface, and power electronics systems.
- Work closely with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to support product development and production.
- Support supplier management, manufacturing processes, and testing activities.
Experience Required
- Degree-qualified in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong industry experience developing PCB-based electronic hardware.
- Previous leadership or team management experience.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics design.
- Experience using PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad, or similar.
- Hands-on experience debugging and validating hardware systems.
