Duration - 2 Month Contract (potential for extension)

Working Model - On-site in Bridgend (Wales)

Hourly Rate - £35p/hour - £45p/hour (dependant on experience)

Overview

My client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer capable of working independently. The role involves producing and reviewing mechanical designs, preparing reports and specifications, carrying out Part L assessments, including full Stage 4 design verification. Candidates should have experience in a contracting design environment and a good understanding of builder’s work coordination. The company delivers mechanical and electrical services across commercial and industrial projects, from design through to installation, commissioning and maintenance.

The role will involve:

  • Produce and review mechanical designs for commercial and industrial projects
  • Work independently and manage own workload
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications
  • Carry out Part L energy assessments and ensure compliance
  • Review and verify Stage 4 designs before construction
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and ensure builder’s work requirements are met
  • Support project delivery through to installation and commissioning

The candidate will need to have the following attributes:

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong mechanical design experience within a contracting environment
  • Good understanding of builder’s work coordination
  • Knowledge of Part L assessments and energy compliance
  • Ability to review and verify Stage 4 designs
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Revit experience is beneficial but not essential
