Overview
My client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer capable of working independently. The role involves producing and reviewing mechanical designs, preparing reports and specifications, carrying out Part L assessments, including full Stage 4 design verification. Candidates should have experience in a contracting design environment and a good understanding of builder's work coordination. The company delivers mechanical and electrical services across commercial and industrial projects, from design through to installation, commissioning and maintenance.
The role will involve:
- Produce and review mechanical designs for commercial and industrial projects
- Work independently and manage own workload
- Prepare technical reports and specifications
- Carry out Part L energy assessments and ensure compliance
- Review and verify Stage 4 designs before construction
- Coordinate with other disciplines and ensure builder's work requirements are met
- Support project delivery through to installation and commissioning
The candidate will need to have the following attributes:
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong mechanical design experience within a contracting environment
- Good understanding of builder's work coordination
- Knowledge of Part L assessments and energy compliance
- Ability to review and verify Stage 4 designs
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Revit experience is beneficial but not essential
