We’re looking for an experienced Principal Trading Analyst to turn complex trading data into decisions that help maximise revenue and occupancy across Premier Inn in the UK, Ireland and Germany. This is much more than a reporting role. You’ll explore the factors driving performance, identify risks and commercial opportunities, and translate your findings into clear recommendations. Close working relationships with Commercial Leads and stakeholders across Trading, Pricing, Events, eCommerce and Marketing will be key. You’ll help shape and optimise our pricing and trading activity.
This role will let you take ownership of commercial analysis from the initial question through to implementation. That means identifying the right areas to investigate, building robust datasets, uncovering the story behind the results and presenting your conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences. Your ability to combine analytical curiosity with strong commercial judgement will be essential.
You will own Premier Inn’s weekly and annual trading drumbeats – chairing key sessions and creating weekly business performance packs to support optimal short-lead revenue performance, and conducting longer-lead seasonal reviews to drive performance metrics into the next 12 months’ stay dates. You’ll also manage, coach and develop two Trading Analysts, while owning the team’s analytical roadmap and ensuring high-priority work is delivered at pace. Previous line-management experience would be ideal, although we’re also open to candidates with strong, demonstrable experience of mentoring or developing others. The role has the potential to influence approximately £5–10 million in revenue annually.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Strong commercial analytics experience in a dynamic-pricing environment preferred.
- Hands-on experience creating solutions and analysis using Power BI and Azure Databricks (or equivalent), rather than simply consuming existing reports.
- Strong SQL capability for data manipulation and analysis.
- Excellent data visualisation, storytelling and presentation skills.
- The confidence to influence stakeholders and provide constructive challenge.
- Experience coaching, mentoring or line-managing analysts.
- The ability to balance immediate trading priorities with longer-term commercial initiatives.
You could currently be working in hospitality, travel, airlines, cruise lines, rail, retail or supermarkets, or another sector where demand and dynamic pricing directly influence commercial performance. If you’re passionate about turning data into commercial action and want your analysis to have a visible impact on the performance of a major international hospitality business, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re proud to be a Top Employer for 14 consecutive years, a top apprenticeship employer, a Leader in Stonewall’s Proud Employer Accreditation, and a Top 25 Exemplary Employer in the Investing in Ethnicity Parliamentary Matrix. Join Premier Inn and help develop the skills, leaders and capabilities that will power our future success.
