We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing domiciliary care provider for an experienced Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of 10+ domiciliary care branches across Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. This is a home-based role when not travelling between services, requiring regular travel across the region to provide operational leadership, support branch performance and ensure the delivery of outstanding care. This is a fast-paced, high-profile position suited to an ambitious leader who thrives under pressure and enjoys balancing commercial performance with exceptional quality outcomes.
The Role
- Provide leadership and operational oversight across your portfolio, working closely with Registered Managers to drive growth, improve performance and ensure every service consistently delivers safe, person-centred care.
- Support both established and developing branches, using data and performance metrics to make informed decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Take a hands-on approach, spending time within your branches to support managers, monitor care quality, ensure compliance and maintain high standards of service delivery while driving commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership across a portfolio of 10+ domiciliary care branches.
- Support, coach and develop Registered Managers to achieve outstanding operational performance.
- Drive branch growth, profitability and commercial performance.
- Analyse operational and financial data, identifying trends and implementing improvement plans.
- Monitor KPIs including care hours, staffing, recruitment, retention, compliance and financial performance.
- Ensure all services remain fully compliant with CQC regulations and internal quality standards.
- Carry out regular branch visits, audits and quality reviews.
- Work closely with senior leadership to deliver strategic objectives and business growth.
- Support branches through CQC inspections and implement action plans where required.
- Build high-performing management teams through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
- Oversee recruitment, workforce planning and retention strategies across the region.
- Ensure excellent customer satisfaction and consistently high standards of person-centred care.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to achieve operational excellence across all services.
About You
- Previous experience as an Area Manager, Regional Manager or Operations Manager within domiciliary care.
- Proven experience managing multiple domiciliary care services simultaneously.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive branch growth and profitability.
- Highly analytical, confident interpreting data, KPIs and financial information to support decision-making.
- Excellent understanding of CQC regulations and quality standards.
- Demonstrable experience supporting Registered Managers to achieve positive operational outcomes.
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with multiple priorities.
- A visible and hands-on leader who enjoys spending time within services supporting teams.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and coaching skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
