Your Role
Market Development / Strategy
- Develop and execute regional growth strategies aligned with company objectives, targeting developers, builders, housing associations and strategic partners.
- Identify and target new business opportunities across defined segments within residential, commercial, and mixed‑use developments.
- Have a clear engagement plan and rhythm, ensuring both external and internal engagement up to and including account plans for key relationships.
Client Engagement
- Build meaningful relationships with target clients using defined plans (across LABC network if relevant).
- Develop comprehensive stakeholder maps and engage internal stakeholders to broaden relationships and influence with partners.
- Demonstrate understanding of client challenges and devise, with the help of the business, a compelling proposition for clients.
- Understand clients’ pipelines to maximise growth opportunities.
- Act as a trusted advisor, key contact for the business with agreed accounts.
Internal Engagement
- Maintain comprehensive sales data and management information using the company pipeline tool.
- Communicate sales performance, forecasts and ongoing activity to engage and support colleagues.
- Collaborate with key internal functions to make doing business with clients easier.
- Act as the primary contact for regional clients, ensuring alignment to correct client and business outcomes.
- Work closely with Sales Support to set clear expectations and workloads, maximizing client engagement and outcomes.
Product & Technical Knowledge
- Maintain deep understanding of all IDI products, including coverage terms, technical requirements, and underwriting criteria.
- Understand additional services such as Building Control and Training, and present their benefits to clients.
- Provide feedback to proposition development team to enhance offerings and competitiveness.
Targets
- Meet and, where possible, exceed the yearly targets for all products and services.
- Use the pipeline to demonstrate the path to target achievement.
- Work with other departments, e.g., Strategic Sales, to align targets and engagement.
Your Profile
- Proven experience in business development or sales within financial services, insurance, construction, or property sectors.
- Proven strategic and planning capability that translates into business productivity.
- Data‑driven mindset that allows consistent planning and effort.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Successful stakeholder management skills across complex organisations.
- Professional certifications in sales, business development, or financial services (desirable).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or proven relevant industry experience.
