I’m currently working for a global business who are well established within the online gaming/gambling industry and looking to add a talented MySQL Database Administrator to their growing team. The company have been going for over 20 years with their hub being based out of the Oxford office. The company work with some of biggest global companies in their respective field from small local businesses so some of the largest online global casinos, and have sites in Canada, South Africa & China.
In this role, you will support with the company switch from SQL Server across to MySQL so having experience across both would be essential. It’s a mainly DBA focused role although having a developer understanding or having coded in the past would also be beneficiary for this role – ideally in Python. You will build, manage & maintain MySQL databases in a Linux environment, implement data/security strategies and develop best practices across the business for the team to follow.
This company are based in Oxford and require office working of once a month.
Technical Requirements
- Experience working as a MySQL Developer and DBA.
- Comfortable managing database server configurations.
- Ideally have been involved in SQL Server to MySQL migrations.
- Strong SQL development experience.
- Good understanding of architectural design choices.
- Core technologies: MySQL, SQL Server, Linux, Windows, DBA skill set.
- Worked with other database technologies such as PostreSQL & Oracle.
- Good communication skills to work with international teams.
- Bonus Skills: Python, Bash, AWS.
Salary/Benefits
- £50,000-£70,000
- 20% of 1months salary paid out each quarter.
