Job Description
ROLE – Graduate Mechanical Engineer
LOCATION – Southampton
TERM – Permanent
SALARY- £28,000 – £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience
My client designs and manufactures bespoke products for a number of industries. They are looking to take on a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Southampton on a permanent basis.
The Graduate Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Experience working with machinery or other heavy equipment
- Eager to work in a hands-on and varied Engineering role
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, plastics, injection moulding, machining etc
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient using MS Office
- Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
- A background in Manufacture would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Team player
- Eager to train and develop their career in Engineering/Manufacture
The Graduate Mechanical Engineer role will involve:
- Mechanical assembly of a variety of products and equipment
- Working with CNC machinery
- Opportunities to train in different areas of Engineering and progress up into Design or Management
- Being involved in the design and development of new products
- CNC Milling or Turning working with varied controls
- Reading from engineering drawings
- Adhering to company H&S requirements
- Working to procedures and instructions
- Communicating with different departments to resolve technical issues
