JOB – BOM Administrator
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – £35,000 to £42,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Premier Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented BOM Administrator to join our client’s engineering team in West Berkshire.
This role is focused on managing and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring product data integrity, and supporting engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams in the delivery of high-quality products.
The BOM Administrator will ideally have the following attributes:
- Proven experience in BOM administration, configuration management, or engineering data roles within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of product structures, part numbering systems, and revision control
- Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems (such as SAP, Windchill, Teamcenter, or equivalent)
- Understanding of engineering change control processes (ECO/ECR)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD data, and technical specifications
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise across departments
- Competency in Microsoft Office tools and data management systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
The BOM Administrator role will involve:
- Creating, managing, and maintaining Bills of Materials across multiple projects
- Overseeing procurement, identifying suppliers and BOM scheduling
- Ensuring accuracy and consistency of product data in PLM/ERP systems
- Supporting engineering change processes by updating BOMs in line with ECOs/ECRs
- Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure data accuracy
- Coordinating with document control and configuration management teams to align processes
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies in BOMs and product data
- Supporting new product introduction (NPI) activities with accurate BOM creation and maintenance
- Assisting with audits and ensuring compliance with internal standards and quality requirements
- Driving process improvements in BOM and data management practices
