We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Engineer to join our small Employee Ownership Trust Audio Visual business. The candidate must be able to work under their own initiative and have a background in engineering/maintenance. Electrical knowledge is highly desirable for this position. The candidate must have a good telephone manner in order to speak to customers for technical support on our products. This is a multi-skilled role that involves handling, stocking, picking, shipping activities, and product repairs. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operations of our warehouse. Previous warehouse experience is preferred, along with a proactive attitude and a strong work ethic. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a small dynamic team with the customers at the heart of everything.
Duties
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading lorries using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
- Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer expectations.
- Stocking shelves and maintaining organised storage areas to optimise space utilisation and weekly stock take to ensure accuracy.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures, ensuring all goods are correctly documented and stored and dealing directly with the couriers.
- Conducting quality control checks to verify the integrity of products before dispatch.
- Carrying out product warranty repairs and professionally repackaging products to company standards.
- Ensuring warehouse areas are kept clean and tidy to support efficient operations and health and safety compliance.
- Monitoring and maintaining correct stock rotation to ensure accurate inventory control and minimise waste.
- Performing grounds maintenance to ensure outdoor areas are clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to at all times during daily operations.
Working hours: 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehousing is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and forklift operation (certification preferred).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control.
- Ability to load and unload heavy items safely, with physical strength for heavy lifting tasks.
- Experience in picking, packing, stocking, and shipping.
