This is a varied, hands-on role with a 50/50 split between production engineering and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations, improving production efficiency, and ensuring machinery and equipment are maintained to minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Engineering
  • Support and improve day-to-day manufacturing processes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions
  • Support process optimisation, tooling improvements, and production line performance
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to achieve operational targets
  • Maintenance Engineering
    • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
    • Respond to machine breakdowns and conduct fault-finding activities
    • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on manufacturing equipment
    • Reduce downtime through effective troubleshooting and preventative measures
    • Assist with machinery installation, upgrades, and commissioning

    Candidate Requirements:

    • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
    • Strong maintenance engineering and fault-finding experience
    • Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background
    • Experience supporting production and process improvement activities
    • Good understanding of health & safety within manufacturing
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Engineering qualification preferred (NVQ/HNC/HND or equivalent)
