My client works in the water industry delivering projects for a national client base. They are looking for a Project Engineer to join their team in Glasgow on a permanent basis.

The BIM Technician will ideally have the following attributes:

  • 2-5+ years’ experience in a similar BIM Technician / CAD Technician or similar roles
  • Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as Revit, Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo etc.
  • Any previous experience of working with bespoke metalwork, structural steel or similar would be beneficial
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
  • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

The BIM Technician role will involve:

  • Working within the current engineering team with other CAD Technicians
  • Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD MEP
  • Liaising with manufacturing providers
  • Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
  • Updating 3D models and drawings
  • Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
  • Checking drawings for sign off
  • Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
