We’re a growing engineering consultancy looking for an Electronics Engineer who enjoys solving varied, real-world problems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on moving between projects, working with different technologies, and contributing ideas from concept through to delivery.

About the Role

You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team delivering electronic design solutions for a range of clients and applications. The work is hands-on and varied — one week you might be developing a new embedded system, the next diagnosing issues on an existing design or preparing a prototype for manufacture. This is a role for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, managing their time across multiple pieces of work, and engaging directly with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Creating electronic designs for a mix of applications, from sensing and control to user interfaces and power switching
  • Developing firmware for embedded systems
  • Investigating and resolving faults in hardware
  • Producing PCB designs and taking them through to manufacture
  • Assembling, testing, and refining prototypes
  • Supporting the transition from design into low-volume production
  • Working with external partners and component suppliers
  • Documenting your work clearly for both internal use and client delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid background in electronics design, covering both analogue and digital principles
  • Experience working with embedded systems and microcontrollers
  • Confidence writing embedded software (C/C++, Python, or similar)
  • Practical experience designing and delivering PCBs
  • A hands-on approach, with the ability to test, troubleshoot, and improve designs
  • Comfortable balancing several projects at once
